Somewhere over the rainbow skies
are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true.

Hello Valley Floor Preservationists. As most of
you know the Valley Floor valuation trial starts
Tuesday, February 5 in Delta County. The Town’s legal team
has asked that we keep our presence to a minimum. This is not a
spectator event. The judge issued a decree stating that any physical
and/or verbal statements for or against either party in the courtroom
will not be allowed.
There will be daily updates from the trial on both
the Town’s website and at valleyfloor.org.
Last week the Town Council issued a detailed memo
on the case to condemn, the valuation trial and the conservation
easement. Click
here for the pdf.
The Demas Family is sponsoring
the Wishing Well this week. We would like to thank them as well
as all of the previous Wishing Well Sponsors for their generosity.
The Wishing Well is truly helping us make this happen! Thanks to
all of you who have made donations as well. The Creels
are next week with a $30,000 match and the Martindales
follow with $20,000. Now is the time to pay your
pledge or make your donation. We are accepting contributions at
the VFPP office as well; and remember, if your donation is $500
or larger you can sign an escrow agreement allowing VFPP to return
your contribution if for any reason the acquisition is not successfully
completed.
The Valley Floor Art Show will
be at the Depot on Friday, February 23. We have some beautiful pieces
of art and would love more. Please contact Karen Wilcox at 728-4697
to discuss your submission or with questions. We will need volunteers.
Watch for more information.
Hopefully many of you have received the “Final
Step” brochure we mailed out recently. We would like to distribute
them to as many people in the region as possible. If you are interested
in dropping them off in your neighborhood or have a good location
for people to pick them up please stop by the office and pick some
up.
Both versions of the beautiful limited edition
Valley Floor Pendants and Pins are still available at the Telluride
Gallery. Valley Floor merchandise is still available at www.valleyfloor.org
or in Telluride at Jagged Edge.
Remember – HOME STRETCH,
time to MAKE IT HAPPEN!
