Deed Transfered to the Town of Telluride

On Friday, June 20th District Court Judge Greenacre signed the Rule and Order that officially deeded the ownership of the Valley Floor to the Town of Telluride. The process to transfer the $50M plus interest to SMVC began at that time.

One very significant chapter of a small, yet undeniably passionate, community's quest to preserve its gateway and its watershed has ended and another has begun. The Telluride Open Space Commission has already begun the next chapter of preservation work by hiring Ecological Resource Consultants to conduct a science-driven environmental analysis of the Valley Floor. This report will help guide any necessary changes to the conservation easement as well as the management plan required by the conservation easement. The Town's web site will be regularly updated with information about this process.

While we will continue to keep this site updated, we encourage you to go to the Town of Telluride web site for ongoing updates of the preservation and restoration process.
